Why so many apps are called 777

777 is the classic jackpot line on a slot machine, so it is the easiest name for a slots app to borrow. No, not for real money. The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 bans online money games, whether based on skill or chance. It also bans advertising them and stops banks and payment companies from processing their payments. The Act and the Online Gaming Rules 2026 have applied since 1 May 2026. Penalties are aimed at operators, advertisers and payment handlers: offering such a game can mean up to three years in prison or a fine of up to ₹1 crore. Players are not the target. The Supreme Court is hearing a challenge to the Act but has not stayed it.

Withdrawal not arriving from a 777 app

1. Write down the app’s package ID and web address, then screenshot your balance and the withdrawal request.
2. Get the UTR number for every UPI payment you made into the app.
3. Refuse any request to pay a fee or “tax” before a withdrawal is released.
4. Report on 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in, and raise a complaint on each transaction in your UPI app.
