Short answer: Love Rummy is a real-money rummy app shared in India as an APK file through websites and messaging groups, not through Google Play. Since 1 May 2026, offering real-money games like it in India is illegal under the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025. That matters most when money gets stuck: you have no licensed operator to complain to and no regulator to take a complaint. Is Love Rummy real or fake?

“Real” and “safe” are different questions. The app exists and people do play it, but three things are worth knowing before you trust it with money:

• It is not on Google Play. A Play Store search for “Love Rummy” shows only licensed and free rummy apps from other developers. Anything you install is a file from a website or a Telegram link, so you cannot check who built it or whether it has been changed.
• The company behind it is not identified. Our searches found no registered company, address or grievance officer named for Love Rummy. A legitimate operator names all three.
• It goes by several spellings. People look for it as “Love Rummy”, “LoveRummy”, “Love Rammy” and “Rummy Love”, and download pages for these names are not all run by the same people. There is no reliable way to tell an original file from a copy built to collect deposits.

Is Love Rummy legal in India in 2026?

No. The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 received Presidential assent on 22 August 2025 and, together with the Online Gaming Rules 2026, came into force on 1 May 2026. It bans online money games whether they are games of skill or games of chance, so the old argument that “rummy is a skill game” no longer makes a real-money rummy app legal. The Act also bans advertising these games and processing payments for them.

The penalties fall on the people who run, advertise or move money for these apps (up to three years in prison or a fine of up to ₹1 crore for offering them), not on players. A challenge to the Act is pending before the Supreme Court, but the Court has not stayed it, so the ban applies while the case continues. Free rummy with no deposits and no cash prizes is not affected.

Love Rummy withdrawal stuck or not received: what to do

The Act bars banks and payment companies from processing money for these games, so payments that do go through often travel through personal or third-party accounts. That makes a stuck withdrawal hard to recover. In order of what helps:

1. Collect your proof first. Screenshot your balance, the withdrawal request and your transaction history inside the app. From your UPI app, note the 12-digit UTR number, date and amount of every deposit.
2. Do not pay to “unlock” a withdrawal. Requests for a fee, tax, “GST” or a VIP top-up before money is released are the most common sign of a scam. Paying more never releases the first amount.
3. Raise a complaint with the UPI app you paid from. Most UPI apps have a “raise a complaint” or “report a problem” option on each transaction. Quote the UTR.
4. Report it. Call the national cyber-fraud helpline 1930 as soon as possible, or file at cybercrime.gov.in. Fast reports give the best chance of money being held before it leaves the receiving account.
5. Stop depositing. If a withdrawal has not arrived, adding money to “increase your limit” puts more at risk.

How 13-card Indian rummy works

Apps that cannot use Google Play or Indian payment gateways often move to new domains when old ones are blocked. A changing address is a reason for more caution, not less.
